THE DESIGN STUDIO

Websites

If your website doesn’t clearly communicate what you do, who it’s for, or why it matters, it isn’t doing its job. Good design captures attention. Words do the selling. This is our sweet spot. Every website we build is custom and deeply intentional. The result: a website you’re actually proud to share.

FAQs

Check out the questions we often get about custom website projects (and our answers).

  • We specialize in building custom Squarespace websites. Read our blog about why we use Squarespace + how it stacks up to other platforms. If you're interested in a Shopify or Showit website, schedule a call and let us know.

  • Yes, a deposit is due to hold your website project spot on our calendar. We'll let you know the earliest date available, and you can get your project slot and kickoff date locked in.

    • The standard payment schedule: 50% of the remaining balance (after 33% deposit is paid) is due prior to the project scheduled kickoff with remaining 50% due prior to delivery.

    • We book many clients who are looking to get their projects and workshops scheduled as soon as possible. The payment schedule is tied to your time window or selected payment plan and allows us to honor your project for the time we have set aside just for you, and for our other clients.

    • Payment schedule will not change based on client project delays (if applicable).

    • For website projects, website ownership will be transferred after balance is paid in full.

  • Yes, if total services selected exceed $7,500, payment plan options are available.

    • We offer 3 and 6 month payment plans.

    • 33% of the total project fee is due as a deposit, and the remainder is split evenly across the months selected. Additional fees apply as follows:

      • 3 month payment plan: 3% added to the project total and monthly payments are split up evenly

      • 6 month payment plan: 5% added to the project total and monthly payments are split up evenly

    • We will setup your payment plan, if selected, with an auto-draft subscription with a card on file. The first payment of your payment plan will initiate prior to project or workshop kickoff.

    • If you'd like to select one of the payment plans, simply let us know.

  • We have a detailed process we take our clients through. The full timeline from start to finish varies based on: the package you choose, your timeliness on providing everything we need from you, the extent of feedback you provide, and turnaround times on approvals at key milestones. On average, a typical website takes about 4-6 weeks.

  • The number one thing you can do to help make your website project stay on track is to have custom photography and/or videography done.

We highly recommend getting professional photography done for your website to get the best, most custom look and feel for your new website. We created The Ultimate Guide to Choosing Images for Your Website to make it easy for you.

If you do not provide custom photos for your business/services, we'll provide one round of selected stock photos. Rounds of revisions apply.

Another important element we need to get started on your site is your branding. Have all your brand assets (logo, color palette, typography, graphics, favicon, etc.) ready, or let us know if you need this done. We offer custom branding packages and pairing this with a new website project is a common, great time to do this for best results for your new site.

Remember, we here to take you step-by-step through our process.
